Be part of a team maintaining trails and restoring habitat with the Wilton Land Trust on Stewardship Sundays!
Through Stewardship Sundays, community members of all ages come together to care for Wilton’s natural landscapes and strengthen their connection to the environment.
April 19: Norwalk River habitat restoration at Schenck's Island with Trout Unlimited
May 17: Chestnut orchard planting and maintenance at Chestnut Meadows with the American Chestnut Foundation
June 7: Wildflower walk and meadow management at Keelers Ridge

What You’ll Do
- Restore: identify and remove invasive plants
- Plant: transplant native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers
- Maintain: ensure trails are clear, safe, and accessible to visitors
What to Wear
- Clothing: A brimmed hat, long sleeves, and pants
- Footwear: Sturdy closed-toe shoes and tall socks
Provided by Wilton Land Trust
- Gear: All necessary gloves and hand tools
- Materials: Native plant material and mulch for restoration projects
- Safety Supplies: First aid kit, sunscreen, bug spray, and poison ivy wipes

Start celebrating Earth Day early by restoring habitat along the Norwalk River at Schenck's Island with Wilton Land Trust and Gerald Berrafati from Trout Unlimited.
Schenck's Island:
The trail entrance is at the end of Old Ridgefield Road. Please park in the parking lot and meet by the picnic tables. Look for the WLT table to sign in.

Help the Wilton Land Trust manage our 100-tree American Chestnut orchard under the guidance of Jack Swatt from the American Chestnut Foundation in an effort to save this remarkable native tree species from the brink of extinction.
Chestnut Meadows:
Chestnut Meadows provides indoor restroom facilities and ample parking. The American Chestnut Orchard is located in the back of the preserve across from the parking area. Look for the WLT table to sign in.

Join us for a guided Spring Wildflower Walk by Trustee and Stewardship Committee member, Tina Duncan, followed by a day of meadow management in Keelers Ridge Meadow, the "Jewel" of the Wilton Land Trust.
Keelers Ridge Meadow:
Park along Keelers Ridge Rd near the intersection of Ridgefield Rd. Meet in Walter Preserve at 688 Ridgefield Rd. Look for the WLT table to sign in. Once everyone has convened, we will cross Ridgefield Rd to Keelers Ridge Meadow to begin the event.
